The Ross County Board of Developmental Disabilities, better known as the Pioneer Center, has chosen its next superintendent. On Friday, the board approved Leia Snyder as assistant superintendent. Snyder, who comes to Ross County from the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities, will spend several months training with current Superintendent Rick Marriott before taking the reins as superintendent later this year. Snyder is scheduled to begin her job as assistant superintendent March 16. A resident of Hillsboro, Snyder serves as quality assurance director for the Butler County board. Before that, she was an English and special education teacher in the Eastern Brown Local District and an investigative agent for the Southern Ohio Council of Governments. Marriott announced in July his plans to retire after 35 years as superintendent. In this week’s upcoming meeting news:
