Juvenile-Probate Court Judge Jay Meyer administered the oath of office to Seneca County Board of Developmental Disabilities officers Tuesday. Dave Culp is to serve as president, Joe Moore as vice president and Patty Smith as secretary. Meetings are to continue to be at 5 p.m. the second Tuesday monthly at various locations in the county. Committee assignments are to remain the same.

Opportunity Center Superintendent Lew Hurst informed board members the facility is preparing for the accreditation process by holding mock reviews with the next being planned for early February.

A new alarm system has been installed at the center that is to alert administrators and law enforcement should it be breached.

Hurst also mentioned the death of student Colin Studer, and what he meant to the School of Opportunity.

In his report, Business Manager Dick Williams said they had received $290,000 more in real estate taxes than expected.

In other matters, the board:

Approved the ethics council report for renewing two supported living contracts.

Approved the 2014 annual report and 2015 action plan that includes language addressing the promotion of self-determination, community inclusion and employment.

Transferred $41,688 from the General Fund to the Help Me Grow-Early Childhood fund of the Fostoria operating fund.

Approved the leave conversion for employees of the Opportunity Center where vacation or sick days may be converted to cash.

Approved the superintendent's professional development plan for 2015

The 169 board is to meet at 5 p.m. Feb. 10.
