The new Tuscarawas County Board of Developmental Disabilities Service and Support Center, which opened last July, is proving its worth in the savings seen so far.
Officials earlier had estimated that the new facility would save TCBDD more than $3.8 million dollars over the next 20 years by not having to pay rent for other offices, saving on energy costs and the elimination of mileage between buildings.
"We are on track to save $3.8 million, but are optimistic that it will be over $4 million," said Erin Jones, TCBB coordinator of community relations and special projects.
