Keynote Speaker: Buzz Bissinger
Our featured speaker is Mr. Buzz Bissinger, author of "Father's Day: A Journey into the Mind and Heart of My Extraordinary Son". His book chronicles the lives of his twin sons. Born 13 weeks premature in 1983 and weighing less than two pounds, Gerry is a public school teacher while Zach, because of oxygen deprivation at birth, suffered trace brain damage and struggles every day with enormous learning disabilities. Mr. Bissinger will speak during the opening plenary, present at one of the sessions and be available to autograph copies of his book. To learn more about Buzz Bissinger, go to www.buzzbissinger.com.
Art and Product Show
The
7th Annual Art and Product Show will be held following sessions on Thursday, December 6. This event showcases many of the wonderful products made by people who receive services from a county board of DD. The event is a great way to do some holiday shopping while mingling with colleagues.
The Convention will draw to a close following sessions on Friday, December 7. There will be some great last minute prizes for those who choose to take advantage of the final day's sessions. In order to accommodate those driving long distances to return home, sessions end an hour early.
