John Trunk (he/him) is the Board Leadership Advisor at OACB, where he supports county boards with superintendent searches, provides board training and offers technical assistance on a range of administrative and governance matters.
John joined OACB in July 2022 and brings more than 46 years of experience in the developmental disabilities field. He began his career in direct care as a house parent before moving into leadership roles. After earning his superintendent’s certificate, he served as superintendent for the Williams, Lucas and Summit County Boards of Developmental Disabilities for a combined 28 years.
His areas of expertise include policy development, strategic planning, and board and community relations. John holds a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Administration from DePaul University.
He is motivated by seeing people succeed and values the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their families. Outside of work, John enjoys running, golfing, reading, and spending time with his four children and eleven grandchildren.
