Ruby Lobert

Communications Coordinator

Ruby Lobert (she/her) is the Communications Coordinator at OACB, where she helps produce and manage many of the organization’s written communications. Her work includes writing, editing, and formatting materials such as newsletters, event materials, and flyers. On a day-to-day basis, she focuses heavily on OACB’s newsletters—helping write and edit content, coordinating distribution, and ensuring members receive timely updates and information.

Ruby joined OACB in May 2025 and has experience across government, nonprofit, and advocacy sectors. Her previous roles include positions with the Ohio Statehouse, the Columbus Mayor’s Office, the labor movement, the Columbus Foundation, and the ACLU. After graduating from The Ohio State University, she also served as a campus organizer for a political campaign.

Her areas of focus include professional writing and editing, project coordination, and internal and external communications. Ruby holds a degree in Public Management, Leadership, and Policy from The Ohio State University, with minors in Human Rights and Nonprofit Management.

Ruby is motivated by the belief that strong communication centers people and makes knowledge accessible. She values supporting the professionals who dedicate their work to serving others and takes pride in helping organizations share information that helps their communities succeed.

Outside of work, Ruby enjoys reading fiction, attending live music, trying new restaurants with friends, and spending time with her ornery orange cat, Avery. She is also a big fan of musicals—especially Wicked and Hadestown.
