33rd Annual Convention - Information

 
 
The 33rd Annual Convention of the Ohio Association of County Boards - Serving People with Developmental Disabilities is coming soon!  From Wednesday, November 30 through Friday, December 2, attendees will learn more about recent developments in Ohio's county board system, develop professional relationships with their colleagues, and develop their professional skills in a wide variety of areas. Tracks by day are listed below.

The 10th Annual Art and Product Show will be held following sessions on Thursday, December 1. This event showcases many of the wonderful products made by people who are supported by county boards of DD. The event is a great way to do some holiday shopping while enjoying food and festivities with colleagues. The convention will draw to a close following sessions on Friday, December 2. In order to accommodate those driving long distances to return home, sessions end an hour early.
 

 
 Hotel Information

 
This year's convention will once again take place at the Hilton Columbus at Easton Town Center, located at 3900 Chagrin Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43219. A block of rooms has been reserved for Annual Convention attendees at a reduced rate of $193 per night, per room, and subject to State and Local Occupancy Tax. The deadline to reserve at the discounted rate is November 7, 2016, but room numbers are limited. Please make your reservation as soon as possible by calling the hotel at (614) 414-5000, and mentioning the OACB Annual Convention.  
 
If you need to cancel a room at the Hilton at Easton, please contact Ann Neu (aneu@oacbdd.org) at 614-431-0616. She is maintaining a waiting list for those who would like to purchase canceled rooms. If the rooms are canceled without contacting OACB first, they will be opened to the general public at standard rates and no longer be available for OACB members at the reduced rate.
 
 
Construction at the Hilton Columbus at Easton 

The Hilton Columbus at Easton will be undergoing renovations during the OACB 33rd Annual Convention. The main entrance to the hotel will be temporarily closed. Guests can enter through the temporary entrance, which is located in the Easton Sports Club (to the right of the main entrance when facing the front of the hotel). A temporary hotel check-in desk will be set up in the Columbus Board Room for convention attendees staying at the Hilton. 
 
Convention attendees can also enter the hotel at the building's north entrance (where the OACB registration tables are located every year) and follow internal signs directing them to the temporary hotel check-in location. If you have questions about the construction, please call the Hilton Columbus at Easton at 614-414-5000.

General Registration (Not a member of a County Board or COG)

Online registration through MemberConnect, OACB's member services portal, is the only way you will be able to register for this event. Once all space is full or the registration deadline has passed, registration will close and MemberConnect registration forms will no longer operate. All fees must be paid to OACB within 30 days of billing unless cancellations are made prior to posted deadlines. Cancellations made after posted deadlines will billed at 100% of the registration fee. Cancellations must be made online at oacbdd.org. No-shows will be billed 100% of the registration fee.

 10th Annual Art and Product Show
 
The 10th Annual Art and Product Show is a free event that will be hosted during the hospitality hour on the evening of December 1. The event will take place from 4:30-7:00 p.m., and it will be held in the Easton Grand Ballroom.
