Willie Jones joined OACB on a full time basis beginning April 1, 2010. Prior to joining OACB, Willie worked for Belmont County Board of Developmental Disabilities for six years as Director of Operations.
Prior to his affiliation with Belmont County, Willie spent 24 years working in the DD field with private providers. During the past twenty years, Willie and his wife owned/operated a training/consulting business serving County Boards of DD and service providers. Willie's specialty has been training related to the DD field in conflict/crisis resolution and developing positive plans/supports. Willie has been fortunate to provide conflict resolution training in eight states and thirty-four Ohio counties.
Willie has served on the boards for PAR and the Ohio Self-Determination Association (OSDA). In 2008, Willie received the ESDY award from OSDA; and, in 2009, the Partners In Excellence award from OACB.
Willie brings a diverse background as a licensed Social Worker and Property/Casualty/Life/Health Insurance Agent. Additional certifications include multiple instructor certifications in crisis intervention, Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and Motorcycle Safety Instructor. To keep his training/coaching skills well-rounded Willie teaches scooter school, basic & experienced motorcycle safety classes and Total Control advanced riding clinics throughout Ohio.
