Art/Products By People with DD

The following is a list of industries offering artwork and products that have been created by consumers from Ohio County Boards of DD. This is not a complete list of work. Rather, this is a list of County Boards of DD who chose to participate in this advertisement effective March 1, 2009.

Allen County: Clients produce a variety of artwork, including watercolors, quilts, jewelry, pillows, acrylics on canvas, and other unique creations, featuring Monster Buddies decorative pillows. Butler County:  Heart of the Art Studio. Items range from small sculptures, painted canvases, cards, bracelets, photography and soon ceramic and glass pieces will be available. Prices start at $10. Contact Tracy Boraz, 513-867-5977, ext. 209

Champaign County: The Lawnview Industries under Lawnview Enrichment & Employment Center (LEEC) supports Art on Main. Greeting cards ($1.25-1.30 - price decreases when amount ordered increases), limited edition prints ($20), and original framed and unframed artwork ($100-$400).  Our website in www.artonmaingallery.com.  We are currently working on a new website site with e-commerce capability.

Coshocton County: RHDD Alternatives offers a wide variety of acrylic paintings, multi media paintings, and other miscellaneous painted items. We also have many craft items such as denim purses, doll furniture, bookmarkers, scarves, abstract sculptures, yarn dollies, decorated flower pots, transfer tee shirts and bags. The products are created by clients and range in price from under a $1 to $100. Franklin County:  We have art (decorated tiles, mugs, ceramic mosaics, framed paintings, postcards, etc.) that are made by consumers and for sale at very reasonable prices, ranging from $5 to $50.  Please call Jackie Boyle at 614-342-5354. She can put people in touch with the appropriate artists or locations.  They have many outstanding pieces.

Geauga County: Metzenbaum Sheltered Industries produces Magic Scent-sations Air Fresheners in 12 scents at $5per unit (9-ounce vented glass container), and cast concrete Stepping Stones, used for patio, walkway, and memorial stones, in many sizes and shapes, priced from $5 and up. Hancock County: The majority of our products are made from aluminum print plates that we recycle from our local newspaper. Our one-of-a-kind products range from our famous Kan Du Star to small flower ornaments. Prices range from $4 to $100. For more information about Kan Du Studio or our artists, visit kandustudio.org. Huron County: Artists' Open Studio, Inc., 306 South Norwalk Rd W,  Norwalk OH 44857. Phone 419-668-8840. Contact Lynda Stoneham at stonehammrdd@accnorwalk.com. Art available includes drawings, acrylic and watercolor paintings, ceramic art pottery, and sculpture. Prices range from $30 - $150.

Lucas County: Shared Lives Studio is an affiliate of Lott Industries. The artists have created original framed and unframed artwork.  Includes paintings, recycled newspaper plate wall clocks, hand painted journals, unusual one of a kind sculptures and unique hand woven canvas.  Contact Lori Schoen at 419-891-5215. 

Mercer County:  Website is www.cagroupinc.org  “Off The Beaten Path,” located at 107 North Mill Street, Celina We sell many items such as embroidered gifts, original art work, jewelry, key chains, engraved gifts of brass, gift baskets, throws, spice rubs and Mixes, Scarves, Hats, Wood Crafts, Greeting Cards, Clothing Protectors, Homemade cookies, and many more items which can be viewed on our website.  Prices range from $1 to $100. Montgomery County:  Fine Arts and Crafts are created by individuals through Montgomery County Developmental Disability Services’ Art Program.  The arts and crafts for sale by these talented and creative artists include greeting cards, paper woven jewelry, sculptures, award winning collages, clay pins, gift baskets, candles, smelly jellies, stepping stones, commissioned pieces and more.  Prices range from $1 to $500.  There are a wide variety of mediums available for special orders.  Contact Karen at 937-837-9290.

Ottawa County: Imagine Art Studio, where imagination and creativity come together to form unique pieces of art ranging from sterling silver jewelry to Imagine Art Wear Clothing. Artists transform recycled wood, metal and cloth into garden art, home décor and useful, functional clothing. Greeting cards, coffee mugs and water bottles are embellished with some of the most loved designs and reproduced for all to enjoy. Preble County: Individuals produce a variety of items and memorabilia, including paintings, drawings, computer drawings, etched jewelry (scanned photos etched on necklaces with metal tags and hearts), costume jewelry and much more. Richland County: Element of Art Studio / Gallery is a non-profit art gallery that showcases the artistic talents of individuals with developmental disabilities affiliated with Richland Newhope Industries, Inc.  Because the space doubles as a studio, the public has the opportunity to interact with the artists as they create unique artwork including but not limited to painting, photography, glass, jewelry, and ceramics. Stark County: Clients produce a variety of artwork, including watercolors, acrylics, wood, clay sculptures, weaving, knitting, silk screening, jewelry, pillows,  and other unique creations, featuring Monster Buddies decorative pillows. Tuscarawas County: Variety of craft products including decorative stepping stones, scented and unscented soaps for all occasions, candles, coasters, seasonal decorations beginning at $1 through $10.  We also sell art work, including sketches and oil painting by artisans with disabilities.  Prices begin at $10. 

Union County: Chad Cook’s artwork has won numerous awards.  He is currently offering to sketch your favorite pet for $20.  You can contact Chad through WorkNet’s Job Developer George Finn at 937-645-6771.
