The Executive Development Program is for professionals seeking positions in middle or upper management in the developmental disability service delivery system as well as those seeking to enhance the delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Classes will begin in January 2018 with one two-day unit taking place in Columbus each month from January to April and from August to November. No classes will be held in the months of May, June, or July to allow for attendance at other professional conferences as well as summer vacations.
The program has been approved by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities for continuing professional development units. Participants completing the entire program will earn 112 credit hours from the Ohio Department of DD. Additionally, the program when completed in its entirety meets the requirements of the advanced curriculum for administrators in Ohio’s developmental disabilities service delivery system as outlined in the Superintendent Certification Standards rule (OAC 5123:2-5-03 (B)(2)).
Each year, OACB assembles a group of professionals who have years of experience in adult education and are extremely knowledgeable in the DD world. Some of our presenters have worked with Fortune 100 companies across the country while others have served provider agencies and county boards of developmental disabilities in Ohio.

Because there is limited space available for this exciting professional development opportunity, we encourage those who may be interested to act quickly and register on-line.

Continuing professional development units (CPDUs)
Program worth 112 credits from Ohio Department of DD
This program is department-approved instruction of 112 hours in advanced curriculum for administrators in Ohio’s developmental disabilities service delivery system. Participants must attend the entire program to fulfill the requirements of the advanced curriculum as outlined in OAC 5123:2-5-03 (B)(2).
This program has also been approved for 112 units of Continuing Professional Development (14 units per two- day session) for the following categories: Adult Services/Day Habilitation, Service and Support Administration, Superintendent, and County Board Members.
In order to receive CPDUs, attendees must complete a session attendance record for each unit. Participants must attend the entire two-day unit to receive the 14 units. No daily credit will be given for participants who leave the session early.
Graduate college credit available
Notre Dame College offers graduate credit hours
The Executive Development Program is pleased to collaborate with Notre Dame College of Cleveland, Ohio, to offer graduate-level college credit for training participants. This unique, exclusive arrangement is available under an agreement between the Ohio Association of County Boards and Notre Dame College.
Participants in the Executive Development Program who wish to obtain graduate-level college credit for program coursework must complete a registration form from Notre Dame College and pay an additional fee per credit hour. This fee is in addition to the program registration costs paid by each student in the program. The Center for Professional Development at Notre Dame College will be providing the information at the conclusion of the program.
