OACB's email listservs are an easy way for members to keep in touch with their counterparts at other county boards of DD across the state. Managing your listserv subscriptions is quick and easy in MemberConnect. When you are subscribed to a listserv, you can send a message to all other members of that listserv by writing an email to the listserv email address. When anyone replies to that message, you will receive that response along with everyone else on the list. If you attempt to send an email to the listserv without being subscribed, you will receive an error message.
When your information is entered into the MemberConnect database, you are automatically signed up for the listservs that make the most sense for you. This is determined by your role in the system. If your MemberConnect information lists you as a Business and Finance staffer, for instance, you will be automatically signed up for firstname.lastname@example.org. You can opt out of listservs to which you're automatically subscribed at any time using the steps below.
In addition, members with some roles are able to sign up for listservs other than the one that corresponds to their specific role. Signing up for these optional listservs does not happen automatically. Superintendents, for instance, are automatically signed up for email@example.com. They may choose to sign themselves up for the business, public relations, and SSA listservs among others. Your automatic listserv subscriptions and the ones that you may opt into are determined by your MemberConnect role. This role can be changed by your
MemberConnect roles can be changed by your board's superintendent, superintendent's assistant, or personnel staffers. Please note that adjusting listserv subscriptions in MemberConnect does not affect whether you receive OACB's email newsletters such as the Insider or Member Monthly.
