Annual Provider Spring Social to be held in McArthur

Published Monday, March 20, 2017

The Vinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities will be hosting their annual Provider Spring Social on Tuesday, April 11, at 10 a.m. in the Vinton County Community Building located at 31935 State Route 93, McArthur.

The Vinton County Board of DD is excited to present Pete Moore from the Good Life Network as a speaker at the event. Pete Moore brings 20 years of experience to his unique, “down to earth” training style. He is a champion for the caregivers, the teams, and the systems that support people with disabilities. His approach is one that is based on common sense and high expectations.

The Good Life Network was developed in 2011 by the Ohio Association of County Boards’ Pete Moore and Willie Jones. For years Moore and Jones have been developing their own unique approach to helping people served in the Developmental Disability System and the professionals who serve them. Their focus was on creating positive cultures filled with respect and dignity for all involved. When Moore and Jones had the chance to work at OACB they decided to merge their works into what is now known as the Good Life Network. They have trained over 450 people across the State of Ohio to be Good Life facilitators.

This event is open to all homemaker/personal care providers, DayHab providers and staff members of our DD community. The Vinton County Board of DD has invited Jackson County Board of DD providers and staff members in an effort to spread the Good Life Network message. If you plan to attend or would like more information, please contact Tina Spanos at 740-596-5515.
