Dustin McKeeLegislative Services Coordinator
Dustin McKee joined the Ohio Association of County Boards Serving People with Developmental Disabilities (OACB) in December 2008. He is responsible for conducting in-depth research pertaining to various public policy issues that impact County Boards of Developmental Disabilities, and supports legislative activities of the OACB by collaborating with various local government stakeholder groups, tracking bills, and lobbying on salient legislation and administrative rules pending at the state and federal level.
McKee also supports the OACB's collection and distribution of information pertaining to the functions of County Boards of DD. He also provides technical assistance to County Boards of DD and assists in the development and facilitation of statewide workgroups, trainings and OACB conference sessions.
He earned his B.A. in Psychology from Earlham College in 2003, and his Masters Degree in Social Work from Ohio University in 2008. He is the 2008 recipient of the Department of Social Work's Outstanding Administrative Graduate Student Award. While completing his MSW, he worked as an intern for HAVAR and the Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services Board of Athens, Hocking and Vinton Counties.
McKee also worked as Graduate Associate for the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs and the National Alliance to End Homelessness. Prior to joining the OACB, Dustin served as the Field Director of a successful 2008 state representative campaign. He also has a background providing direct services to people with serious and persistent mental illness and developmental disabilities.
